Interlit is founded by Zhihui with the vision to use AI to unlock the possibilities to bring safe and efficacious medicine faster to patients and to increase the healthspan of humanity. This is a research and learning project.
We engineer high-affinity protein binders and rank the most clinically viable therapeutic candidates in human interpretable way.
In the 2026 EGFR/cetuximab binder optimization competition, a two-person team led by Zhihui achieved 3 world records:
- all 10 designs we submitted for lab testing bound to their target
- 3 of our 10 designs surpassed the previous world best, and the candidate we ranked first proved to be the tightest binder measured, at 1.6x tighter than the previous world best
The story of Interlit began with Zhihui's master thesis. As a computational biology student with a math and computer science background, Zhihui was interested in learning and training Large Language Model (LLM) but in life science space, and the most famous model variant was Protein Language Model (PLM). After successfully completing his master studies, Zhihui dedicated his most of his time researching and experimental with novel ideas in the method development of PLM and other bio AI models.
